[NOTE: Day changed to Sunday]
We’ve been doing this one in Chatsworth since 2009. It’s the scariest hike this side of Transylvania!
…..A group of innocent hikers, unaware of what waits beyond the next switchback…..

You’ll lose your head on this hike

Due to ongoing development in the area our exact path is unknown, therefore exact mileage is unknown, therefore total ascent is unknown. If you can do 8 miles and 1,000 feet you will be ok

Difficulty will be typical of our regular hikes. Due to ongoing housing development and temporary trail closures I cannot give you an accurate distance/elevation gain estimate. But if you are able to do 8 miles with 1,000 ft total ascent you should be ok.
Getting around the trail closures may involve off-trail/cross-country hiking and/or hiking on non-maintained use trails. Long pants would be nice for some short segments, but not required for hike. Wear hiking shoes or boots. Expect the unexpected. If you are not an experienced hiker this hike may not be for you.
There is not enough parking at the trail head area for everyone, but there is plenty on the side streets to the south.
Check out the map and familiarize yourself with the destination and neighborhood. Carpooling is recommended (see Warner Center Park and Ride).
Go to the north end of Canoga Ave and park under the 118 (or on Candice Pl, on block south of 118) and look for the horseless ones. Do not block any gates or trails
