Newspaperman, radio commentator, movie star, and pop-philosopher Will Rogers purchased this 182-acre property in 1922 and lived with his family here from 1928 until his death in 1935.
Our goal will be to reach Inspiration Point, a flat-topped bump on a ridge overlooking the entire Will Rogers spread with fantatastic views of Santa Monica, Century City, the Wilshire corridor — and all the way to downtown L.A.
We’ll use a mixture of service roads and single track trails to get there. The moon will light our way back to the cars along service road trails like this
This is considered a relatively easy/moderate hike of less than 3 miles and about 400′ elevation gain. So bring something “heavy” to drink 😉 and some snacks to share.
At the top there are picnic benches where we’ll admire a sunset over Santa Monica Bay

Take Sunset Boulevard to Will Rogers State Park Road, located 4.5 miles west of the 405 and three miles east of PCH. At the light, turn north on Will Rogers State Park Road. Drive 1/2 mile to Villa View Dr and park on street. Walk into park
