Friday Hike! – Solstice Canyon & Fresh Seafood Lunch (byob)

Solstice Canyon is the quintessential coastal canyon. The year-round stream provides ample water to support this 550-acre park’s numerous plant communities and a diverse wildlife population. There is a 30 ft water fall and some ruins that are fun to explore. We will hike the Rising Sun, Sostomo, and Deer Valley trails. We’ll take a snack break at the waterfall and Roberts house ruins

And of course, the ocean views. This one is from the Deer Valley Loop

This is a moderate-to-strenuous 7-mile looped hike with 1100 ft net elevation gain. Bring at least one quart water, sunscreen, hat, snacks. Sturdy tennis shoes OK.

We’ll do lunch at the Malibu Seafood Cafe on PCH after the hike. Ok to bring your own beverage – wine, beer, soda….

Directions: From PCH, turn inland on Corral Canyon Rd. and proceed north for about 0.2 mile until you arrive at the entrance to the Solstice Canyon Park. Proceed along Solstice Canyon Rd for about 0.5 mile until you arrive at the second parking area. Corral Canyon Rd is between Malibu Canyon and Kanan-Dume Rd.
