On this VIP Hike I’m buying the wine for the post hike lunch!
Our hike will begin at sea level in Corral Canyon, the last undeveloped coastal canyon in Los Angeles County that flows freely to the ocean. Maybe there will be water in the creek this time
Soon after crossing the creek our exploratory begins along some old use trails and across forgotten meadows overlooking the Malibu riviera. Much of these trails are visible in 1990 aerials, but virtually vanish by 2002 aerials. Long pants are always advisable but I don’t think its critical on this one.
I don’t expect the exploratory part of the hike will be very long. If we want more mileage and elevation gain, we’ll have some fun checking out the artifacts from a bygone era….
…..and mysterious buildings…
After the hike we’ll have lunch next door at Malibu Seafood Patio. Kitchen opens at 11:00 AM. Maybe we’ll spot some dolphins frolicking in the waves, or some celebrities. They let you bring your own beverages. Wine is on me — if you have a preference for white or red, or beer, let me know
There is street parking on PCH, $5.00 exact change in lot next to restaurant at the iron ranger.
